UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER
From 1 January 2015, any individual undertaking nationally recognised training will require a Unique Student Identifier (commonly referred to as a USI). This is an Australian Government initiative designed to negate identified industry issues with the collation and record keeping of nationally accredited training for individuals.
When applying for a job or enrolling in further study, you will often need to provide your previous training records and/or results. The main benefit of the USI is that you will have quick and easy access to your training records and results throughout your life.
A USI account will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results from 1 January 2015 onwards.
“Generally, RTO’s will be unable to issue a qualification or statement of attainment after January 2015 unless the student has a USI”
To prevent delays in enrolment, please ensure each individual has a USI, as this will be a necessary requirement for RTO enrolment processes as of
1 January 2015.
